Phoenix Street is part of the governments pathfinder programme boarding up houses for demolition, some left standing for years before the process begins. This street had some residents that at first refused to move, holding onto all that they knew.
I was drawn into the loss of community residents felt moving from this street. Their stories of street parties eclipsed by brief meetings now in Tesco. The photographs have a dreamlike, nostalgic quality a suggestion of what once was; realised through what remains.
